Andy Murray’s diet is often considered ideal for an athlete, as it includes a variety of foods that he enjoys, while also being carefully monitored by a nutritionist to ensure he stays on track diet-wise. Even though the Ex-athlete was known to have suffered loss of appetite due to his back surgery, he has managed to maintain his weight by being consistent with his diet, and also balancing the beam with his exercise routine.

He aims to consume a diet that contains up to 4,000 calories per day, so he starts his day off with a smoothie made by him, including some fruits. Andy shared in an interview with HelloMagazine that “Having a good breakfast is important, especially as I’m training or competing most days, I need to consume at least 4,000 calories a day". Andy doesn’t take processed foods or sugars at all, and he eats 2 hours before a match, and half an hour after the end of a match.
A fun fact is that Andy has a weakness for ice cream, finding it impossible to resist.
Exercise
Aside from having a nutritionist to keep his diet in check, Andy Murray has a physiotherapist who he says has been with him for a while now, helping him look after his body. By 9 am, Andy begins his training with some physio sessions which usually take place in the Gym and on Court, and lasts around 35 to 45 minutes. Andy does this always before he starts hitting balls in the court.
Andy engages in some speed and mobility exercises which are effective when balling. So, he does a lot of footwork drills and uses elastic bungee cords. Andy also loves cardio; he prefers riding an exercise bike, climbing, or sprinting on the court. The Right-handed (two-handed backhand) player also indulges in plank exercises - both sides, resistance band, oblique twists using a cable machine and or hanging leg raises.
