Casey Neistat Influencer

Casey Owen Neistat is an American YouTuber, vlogger, filmmaker, and businessman who co-founded Beme, a multimedia business that CNN eventually purchased.  He established 368, a collaborative creative environment for content makers, in 2003 and 18. Neistat became well-known for his short film iPod's Dirty Secret, which went viral and criticised Apple for not having an iPod battery replacement program.  He has produced several viral YouTube videos and collaborated with artist Tom Sachs throughout his career. This has made him one of people’s favourites, and as such, we’ll be exploring a little bit of his personality as his article progresses.

Body

Casey Neistat maintains a lean and athletic physique through a combination of consistent cardiovascular exercises and varied physical activities. Standing at about 5'9" (175 cm) tall and weighing around 161 lbs (73 kg), he has a naturally ectomorphic body type — slim, wiry, and well-toned rather than bulky.

Central to his fitness regimen is running; he has mentioned running between 6 and 10 miles daily to keep his cardio health in check. This consistent cardio routine gives him defined legs, a flat core, and a light upper body with minimal body fat.

Even though he doesn’t focus on weightlifting or muscle building, his energetic personality and constant movement — biking, skating, filming, and traveling — contribute to his fit, functional, and endurance-oriented body. His look is complemented by a casual, streetwear-inspired style, often seen in fitted t-shirts, sneakers, and sunglasses, matching his creative, urban filmmaker persona.

Diet

Casey Neistat’s diet has fluctuated over time. In his early YouTube career, he frequently consumed high-calorie foods, including dollar pizza and candy, while relying on intense workouts to balance his intake.

In his 2015 video, World's Worst Diet, he humorously detailed his inconsistent eating habits. By 2019, Neistat reported eating between 5,000 and 7,000 calories daily to fuel his rigorous physical activity, particularly his long-distance running.

He occasionally fasts or detoxes but primarily focuses on high-energy foods to sustain his lifestyle.

Exercise

Running is central to Casey Neistat’s fitness routine. He runs nearly every day, often covering 6 to 10 miles.

In an interview with Runner’s World, he said, "Running is where I get most of my work done. Every major decision I’ve made in the last years has been preceded by a run.”

He uses running as both physical exercise and mental clarity, stopping mid-run to take notes on his phone. Instead of a structured gym routine, he prioritises consistent movement and outdoor activities.

Bio

Barry E. Neistat, a salesperson for commercial kitchen appliances, and Amy Neistat welcomed Casey Neistat into the world in Gales Ferry, Connecticut at March 25, 1981. Neistat grew up in a modest family and left home at age 15. His early life was turbulent — he dropped out of high school and became a father at 17, living in a trailer park with his then-girlfriend Robin Harris.

When his then-girlfriend Robin Harris gave birth to their son, Owen Neistat (1998), he became a father at the age of 17.  He lived with Robin and Owen in a caravan park from 1998 to 2001 before relocating to New York City.

Neistat worked as a short-order cook and dishwasher in a seafood restaurant in Mystic, Connecticut, before beginning his film career.

Casey’s biggest success came with YouTube, where he launched his channel in 2010. His daily vlogs, which began in 2015, quickly set a new standard for the platform — blending cinematic visuals, authentic narration, and motivational storytelling. Through his vlogs, Neistat shared his life as a filmmaker, father, and entrepreneur living in New York City, often emphasizing creativity, risk-taking, and hustle.

Beyond YouTube, Neistat co-founded Beme, a social media app acquired by CNN in 2016 for a reported $25 million. Although the project later shut down.

In his personal life, Casey married Candice Pool, a South African-born jewelry designer, in 2013. The couple has two daughters, and their relationship — including its ups and downs — has been featured candidly in his vlogs.

Today, Neistat lives between Los Angeles and New York, continuing to create films, documentaries, and brand collaborations.
