Depp is of primarily English descent, with some French, German, Irish and African American ancestry. Unlike many other actors who are usually obsessed with acting as a career from a young age, Johnny Depp disclosed that he got into acting by accident. His original passion was music, and he dropped out of Miramar High School to pursue it. He played with a few bands, most notably Rock City Angels, but was largely unsuccessful as a musician.
